Chuck Hays. Nobody worked harder with what they had.

And Nick Richards. He stuck it out through two rough years and was all-SEC as a junior. Cal had so many dudes like that transfer. I love that he’s carved out a role in the NBA now.

Jorts. His game Sweet 16 game against OSU, particularly his out of bounds bounce off of Sullinger was one of my favorite performances of any Wildcat ever. Period. The end.

Ah, Richards is a great pick. He really put the work and time in, and it paid off.

I still have the image of him throwing the Ls down in my head.

            "The blonde bomber"

Shidler was the first player I remember that used to launch them from DEEP! "Unlimited range". He was the only guy who could shoot often from that distance that didn't infuriate Coach Hall.

My cousin was highly rated in 86, swears up and down to things day Hanson was the best player he played against in high school. Better than Rex Felton Draud and Persley.

Allen Edwards about single handedly won a game against Georgia at one point.

The put back dunk off the rim by Azabuike i will never forget.

Think it was Vandy, may be wrong, remember the dunk

Man could he shoot the 3. Probably not remembered because it was early on in a new era but in today's game, Miller would be a good player. Almost Jaxson Robinson like but maybe better.

Off subject but I still think the Minnifield dunk was the greatest ever. Majestic the way he elevated and soared. I didn't see it in real time but had i been at Rupp in the second tier, I may have fell out of the stadium lol lol 😅 😆 😂

Ravi started as a walk-on, but ended up earning a good bit of playing time and a scholarship. I remember Chuck Hayes and Ravi Moss kind of going hand in hand, one of UK’s dynamic duos like Anderson and Mercer, Fitch and Daniels, or Fox and Monk, when you thought of one, you thought of the other. They were friends off the court as well. Ravi was a guard, I want to say 6’1” to 6’3” and had a good bit more athleticism than you normally found in Kentucky’s walk-ons. He played hard and served in a sixth/seventh man sort of role. What I don’t remember is if he was from Kentucky; I don’t remember how he came to be a walk-on and I don’t remember what year he went from walk-on status to being a scholarship player. He was a four year guy and cared about giving full effort and winning.

For me it was Chapman and Mashburn.

I looked up his stats, to see if that might jog my memory....but he only started a dozen games in 4 years at UK, and those all came his senior year. Played in 104, started 12. And that's how many minutes per game he averaged over his 4 years at Kentucky - 12.

I don't know why I liked him, but I remember liking him. I don't recall a specific play or any reason, but he must have been a hustler and effort guy. I tend to like those, even if they play sporadic minutes.

Jason Latherm! I loved the 96 team and it was always exciting to see Jason get clock after the big dawga like Walker, Mercer, and Simmons got us the huge leads.

                                No, but somebody should have.

I really liked Travis Ford. I had hoped that Travis Perry could develop into a Travis Ford type player. I remember watching Travis Ford play when he was a freshman in high school. I was at WKU and Owensboro Apollo (Rex Chapman) was playing a Madisonville high school (Travis Ford) team .A few of my classmates asked if I wanted to go with them to watch Apollo play in Madisonville, so I went. I didn't know who Travis Ford was when I got there, but after people were talking about how good he was and his dad was coach, etc., I started paying attention...and let me tell you, he impressed me that night. I remember when he transferred to UK I was really excited and glad to have him as a Cat.
